From p4cHI to p4cSendai
In June of 2014 five teachers from the Hawai‘i State Department of Education traveled to Sendai Japan to model and practice p4cHI lessons with Japanese administrators, teachers, and students. The delegation of p4cHI teachers included Stephanie Sweeney (4h grade, Waikiki Elementary), Alder Olive (5th grade, Waimanalo Elementary), Noeme Risner (Waimanalo Elementary and Intermediate), Kehau Agena (ELA and Digital Media, Kailua High School), Cheriesse Shiroma (Psychology and Philosophical Inquiry, Kailua High School), and Amber Strong Makaiau (UH Uehiro Academy). One of the many highlights of their trip was working with the educational leaders and teachers in Sendai to find culturally responsive ways to transform p4cHI into p4c Sendai.
